Last month we successfully tested our quarter scale solid sugar motor for our attempt to reach space.
Info on the motor and video can be found at http://www.sugarshot.org/reports/weekly_report_July26.html
We are on our way.

Wow - that is impressive. Very nice hardware.

Also, the video itself is excellent and well-produced - congrats all round! Just make sure you don't take out an N-Prize satellite....

Best,
Paul

We wouldn't if we knew where they were. Just got back from doing final work on a hybrid we hope to launch to 100,000 at this years BALLS event.

Well, 100,000 will be very impressive, but I guess the N-Prize sats'll be safe enough...best of luck!

Hi Paul, After two days and nights of prepping, we were in the process of fueling the 150 pounds of nitrous when conditions changed from warm and sunny to the mother of all cold strong winds and dust not to mention a heavy cloud cover that moved in...next year I guess.

Hi Monroe,
For the Richard's Sugar Shot or Jeff's High Altitude Hybrid?
I was really on pins and needles when Richard asked me to put the minisshot motor together since I wasn't involved with putting the first two that CATOed together. I held my breath for the full 18 or so seconds.
On the aborted hybrid, I was just a small part of a larger team with Jeff doing most of the work.
I will be sending you a message.
Rick
