That actually might be a 'fun' test to do. Take an old motor we have and without using any instrumentation, intentionally make it fail to determine where things go.

The LOHAN project currently ongoing did some low temp and low pressure tests of some solid model rockets ignition can be a problem they have shared their data on the site linked below

Definitions evolve. A long time ago in a previous century a computer was a person hired to do computations and cryogenic simply meant to make something colder than could be found in the environment, but then again my first tablet was made of clay and the only font was cuneiform!
