As regards Starlite - I'd be tempted to play around in the lab, but am resisting further distractions until I've finished my saving-mankind project... although admittedly an uber flameproof material might save a few of them. I thought Maurice had bequeathed the recipe to his children?
On the subject of Pykrete, Pyke also had a scheme to sink enemy ships with supercooled water. The idea was to cool large tanks of ultra-pure water down to several degrees below zero, then spray it onto the enemy whereupon it would freeze instantly. Needless to say, this didn't get very far.
