Video, stills, audio needed....

As we are now around halfway through the running of the N-Prize we'd like to show the world a little bit about what you are doing and why, and make you 9.99% world famous.

To this end we are going to put a short documentary on YouTube that will explain the premise of the competition and showcase some of the work the teams are currently engaged in.

The video will be ten minutes long and presented by Professor Heinz Wolff from Brunel University. Heinz Wolff is a long-time advocate of low-budget spaceflight, and a long-standing presenter of popular science on TV in the UK and elsewhere. The video will help to garner public support, and showcase your ingenuity to the world!

Sadly we are unable to send a camera crew around the globe to every team (rest assured, if we had the opportunity we would be buying the tickets ourselves) so we are going to be heavily reliant on whatever you can send to us. This is an opportunity to get your project some real recognition and interest and also to raise the profile of the competition as a whole, so it would be great if you give us as much footage as you can!

To give you an idea, here is a rough list of what we're looking for:

Video footage
Interview or piece-to-camera with the team leader or whoever is most comfortable on-camera
Shots of launch vehicles, test beds, labs etc, with commentary
Shots of launches - alternatively anything with flames, smoke or explosions
Stills
Any 3D modelling other interesting graphics - trajectory plots etc (preferably with audio/video commentary)
Shots of paper plans, either engineering drawings or sketches on envelopes (preferably with audio/video commentary)
Shots of anything technical (preferably with audio/video commentary)
Audio
Video is better, but if you have absolutely no access to a camcorder we can use an interview over the top of plenty of stills

We can accept most of the usual video/audio/stills formats, either hard formats in the post or soft formats via ftp. Please no esoteric 3D formats like Maya MEL or Avanti Pancreas.

Please let us know if you would be willing to send us something and how much of this you think you might be able to supply.

Once we have a good idea of who is interested in this little venture and who is able to supply footage, we will then draw up a storyboard for the video and request the content from yourselves. We are well aware of how time-poor most of you are, so please don't go putting lots of effort into this until we have established who will be involved and to what extent. We can then go through the details of what is required and provide plenty of advice to ensure that what you send us is useable.
