How to recognize the sattelite?

Hey guys. I'm thinking about a huge problem.
How can you know, the sattelite is in the orbit?
must there be a beeper or a monoton 200Hz beep?
HELP!

I think a radio bleeping is probably going to be the easiest to do and prove but others have suggested visible tracking but IIRC the rules you just have to persuade Paul that you have done it. I suspect that if any amateur/private team gets anything into orbit its likely to be confirmed independently by organizations like NASA and places like Jodrell Bank as they have an interest it tracking everything in orbit for a number of reasons.
Someone has to tilt at windmills.
So that we know what to do when the real giants come!!!!
